AT A GLANCE
Oregon and College of Charleston will meet for the first time ever Sunday at noon at Matthew Knight Arena.
The Ducks enter Sunday's tilt on a four-game winning streak following a 88-38 win over Eastern Washington on Thursday, while the Cougars saw their four-game winning streak snapped Friday after an 83-65 loss at Georgia Southern.
UO seeks to finish its home non-conference schedule with a 6-0 home record while picking up its 55th home victory over a non-conference foe over its last 56 games.
LAST TIME OUT
The Ducks are coming off a resounding 88-38 win over Eastern Washington Thursday that saw three players register double-doubles in Phillipina Kyei, Endyia Rogers and Grace VanSlooten. It marked the first time three Ducks turned in double-doubles in the same game since Feb. 16, 2020 when Ruthy Hebard, Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally did so at USC.
Kyei (18) and Rogers (10) set career highs in rebounds while VanSlooten's game-high 26 points also set a career high. Kyei's 18 boards tied the single-game high in the Pac-12 this season and Rogers turned in her first double-double as a Duck and first since the 2020-21 season while at USC. The duo's efforts, along with VanSlooten's 10 rebounds, helped Oregon to a 65-27 rebounding margin - just two shy of the program single-game record of plus-40 set in 1982.
VanSlooten's 26 points were the most by a UO freshman since Jaz Shelley's 32 against UC Riverside on Dec. 16, 2019. In total, six players finished in double figures - tying a season high - as the 50-point margin of victory was also a season high.
SCOUTING CHARLESTON
Charleston (6-3) makes the trek to Eugene riding a five-game winning streak after a XX-XX win at Georgia Southern. The Cougars feature one of the nation's top freshmen in Jazmyn Stone, who averages 16.7 points per game on 42.8 percent shooting. Stone has scored in double digits in five straight outings, including a career-high 32 against Charleston Southern on Dec. 4.
The Cougars offense leads the Colonial Athletic Association in scoring at 77.8 points per game, led by Jada Logan's 19.8 points per game on 43.8 percent shooting. Logan is also Charleston's rebound leading with 7.5 per outing and recorded the program's second-ever triple-double - and first since 1991 - with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in an 84-38 win over Berry.
Charleston ranks second in the CAA with a plus-7.9 turnover margin, 41.0 rebounds per game and a 33.7 3-point percentage.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Sunday's matchup will mark the first-ever meeting between Oregon and Charleston. Oregon has played a team from the Colonial Athletic Association just four times, going a combined 4-0 against Hampton (2-0), Hofstra (1-0) and Northeastern (1-0). The last meeting between the Ducks and a CAA member was Jan. 11, 2019, when the No. 1 Ducks defeated the Huskies 89-47 at Matthew Knight Arena.
STATEMENT WIN VS. EWU
Oregon's 88-38 win over Eastern Washington Thursday marked the Ducks' largest margin of victory this season and first 50-point win since defeating Washington State by 53 on Feb. 9, 2022 (83-30).
