Ducks Come Up Short against Wisconsin

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men's tennis hung tough today versus Wisconsin, coming up shot 5-2.
Oregon switched up two of it's doubles pairings for today's match, with Ivailo Keremedchiev joining Youssef Kadiri and Luke Vandecasteele teaming up with Jesper Klov-Nilsson. Both pairs struggled early to find their grove and ultimately dropped both matches; Keremedchiev and Kadiri fell 6-4, while L. Vandecasteele and Klov-Nilsson fell 6-1. Q. Vandecasteele and Charlton's match went unfinished with the Ducks up 5-4 when Wisconsin won the doubles point.
All six singles matches looked in play for Oregon, with the first win in singles going to Charlton with a 6-2, 6-2 win. From there, the Ducks dropped two more points to trail 3-1. Quinn Vandecasteele (5-7, 7-5, 6-2) gave the Ducks a much needed second point, with no room for error left in the match.
The final two matches went the distance, but the Badgers would get the clinching point when Luke Vandecasteele dropped his match 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. The teams played out the unfinished singles match and the point went to Wisconsin for a 5-2 final score.
