DUCKS EARN FIRST WIN OF 2022 AT HAWAI'I PACIFIC
Oregon put together its most consistent performance of the season to knock off No. 5 Hawai'i Pacific 275.285-271.865 last Saturday. The Ducks either tied or bested their season-high in 10 heats and three events to lock up Taylor Susnara's first win as a head coach. UO's best performance came in the pyramid event. They scored a 9.95 in the inverted pyramid heat, the team's best score in the heat since March 26, 2018. In total, the Ducks recorded a 29.75 in the pyramid heat, which helped them regain the lead in the meet. Oregon also tied or bested its best scores of the 2022 season in all three heats of the toss event.
MCMORRIS RACKING UP AWARDS DURING FIRST SEASON AS A DUCK
Blessyn McMorris is emerging as a strong contributor for the Ducks in 2022 with two NCATA Freshman of the Week awards in her first three meets. She wasted no time securing her first award as a Duck, earning Freshman of the Week honors for her performance at Baylor before winning the award again after Oregon's victory at Hawai'i Pacific. McMorris is Oregon's first NCATA Freshman of the Week since Calyx Hampton earned the award in 2018. The Lynwood, Ill.-native normally competes in six to eight heats in a given meet, including all three heats of the pyramid event and one or two heats in the toss event.
