Ferguson On Mackey Award Watch List

NEW YORK — Oregon sophomore Terrance Ferguson is one of 55 players on the preseason watch list for the John Mackey Award, presented annually to the nation's most outstanding tight end.
A native of Littleton, Colo., Ferguson is one of eight Pac-12 tight ends to be included on the preseason watch list. There have been two Ducks all-time to be named semifinalists for the Mackey Award - George Wrighster in 2002 and Ed Dickson in 2009.
Ferguson impressed as a true freshman in 2021, playing all 14 games while making eight starts. He led Oregon's tight end room with 17 catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns, and was one of five true freshman tight ends in the FBS with multiple receiving touchdowns.He caught his first career touchdown in Oregon's win over Stony Brook on Sept. 18, finishing with a season-high four receptions for 31 yards.Â
