Enhancements Enliven MKA Experience
11/16/23 | Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
Fans attending Oregon basketball games this season will enjoy a livelier atmosphere, more parking options and a variety of ticketing options.
Fans can expect a more lively, engaging atmosphere both inside and outside the arena when the UO men and women play at home this season. Family ticket plans will also make games more accessible, and upgrades to concessions and parking will enhance the experience.
Both basketball programs are off to 2-0 starts to the season, and play at home this week. The Oregon men host Tennessee State on Friday at 6 p.m., and the UO women are at home to face Santa Clara on Saturday at noon.
The men also have a home nonconference game against Michigan on Dec. 2, and they open Pac-12 play at home against USC on Dec. 28. The Pac-12 home opener for the UO women is against Arizona State on Jan. 12.
Season tickets, mini-plans and single-game tickets are available now for both the women's program and the men's program. Family packs for nonconference men's games against Michigan, Texas-El Paso and Kent State are available, single-game tickets start at just $10, and tickets in the 200 level for the Michigan game are available for just $5 for football season-ticket holders and also UO faculty and staff. Fans in Portland can call 541-346-8281 for information about a package that includes a bus ride to the Michigan game, plus game tickets and a concessions voucher.
Families can buy ticket packages including concessions vouchers for as low as $30 in the 200 level, or $60 in the 100 level. Seating in the upper level will be consolidated to create a more engaging atmosphere, and a new section of 60 bleacher seats for students — dubbed "The Pit" — has been stationed along the baseline near the visiting team bench.
Parking for UO basketball games has never been easier than it will be for the 2023-24 seasons. The Millrace Garage, adjacent to campus will have 100 new parking spots available for home basketball games, complementing previously available parking in the arena garage and campus lots. Complimentary shuttles will be running from The Millrace Garage to the arena for those parked there. Season parking passes will be available for sale soon.
In total, there are 1,157 parking spaces available for purchase in lots adjacent to Matthew Knight Arena, including 400 covered garage spaces. Additionally, there are 500 Arena District parking spaces available for sale. Watch the video below for information on accessing the various parking options for home basketball games.
Upon arriving at the arena, fans will be greeted by a updated external video board with gameday information and upcoming events. Lighting around the exterior of the arena has been upgraded, and later this season fans waiting to enter will hear audio of the radio broadcast, connecting them to the game before they've even entered the doors.
A "Kid Zone" will be set up on the arena's practice courts for select games, and the concourse will have stations featuring Pop-A-Shot and video games. The Oregon cheerleaders and band will perform on the concourse prior to tip, and printed rosters will be available for fans in attendance.
Cards for use at concessions stands will be available at discounted prices to season-ticket holders, and single-game tickets loaded with concessions credits also will be available. Fans in the McArthur Club will enjoy a pregame "happy hour" of 20 percent off concession prices, along with free popcorn; fans seated in the arena's main bowl will have access to the happy hour discount for 30 minutes (happy hour pricing ends 30 minutes prior to tip-off).
In addition, all fans will have access to a special entree each weekend prepared by a local restaurant or food truck.
