Hannah Pukis, Kara McGhee, Morgan Lewis, Mimi Colyer, Gabby Gonzales and Georgia Murphy earned AVCA accolades Wednesday.
EUGENE, Ore. — A program-record six Ducks earned All-America accolades Wednesday, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Hannah Pukis collected first-team honors while Kara McGhee and Morgan Lewis were voted to the second and third teams, respectively. Mimi Colyer, Gabby Gonzales and Georgia Murphy also garnered honorable mention nods.
With Wednesday's announcement, Lewis, McGhee and Pukis become the fourth UO trio to earn AVCA All-America (team) honors in the same season, and the third to do so under head coach Matt Ulmer. The 2018 team had five All-Americans, also with three team members along with two honorable mention picks.
Pukis, a second-team pick a season ago for the Ducks, is the fifth UO player to be named to the AVCA First Team and the second setter, joining Lauren Plum from 2012. Lewis and McGhee are the 15th and 16th player in program history to earn spots on one of the first three teams.

Oregon finished the season at 29-6, tied for the third highest single-season win total in program history, and advanced to an NCAA regional final—Elite 8—for a second-consecutive year. The Ducks went 16-4 in the Pac-12 on their way to a runner-up finish in the conference standings. The team earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and hosted the opening rounds in back-to-back seasons for the first time ever.

Pukis dished out a career-high 1,387 assists this past season and finished eighth in the NCAA with 11.01 assists per set. Under her direction, the Ducks hit .282 with 17 outings at .300 or higher. Pukis paced the team with 24 double-doubles, including a near triple-double performance of 49 assists, 13 digs and nine kills against Wisconsin in the regional final. The Tacoma, Wash., native finished ninth in the Pac-12 with a career-high 385 digs and recorded a career-best 88.0 total blocks in her senior campaign.

McGhee was second in the Pac-12 and 11th in the NCAA with a career-high .415 hitting percentage. She put down 10 or more kills in nine matches this season, all coupled with a .400 or high efficiency. Against Cal (Nov. 11), the San Antonio, Texas, native had a career-high 18 kills in a five-set road win. Defensively, McGhee was third in the Pac-12 with 152 total blocks, good for 1.24 blocks per set. She recorded five or more blocks in 17 matches this season.

Lewis turned in a career season for the Ducks complete with a .341 hitting percentage that ranked 10th in the Pac-12 this year. She also posted career highs in kills (362), total blocks (96) and points (413). She established a career-high 19 kills against Pitt (Sept. 14), a figure she'd match two times during the year in outings against Stanford (Nov. 9) and USC (Nov. 21). Lewis, a Carlsbad, Calif., native had at least five blocks in seven matches including a career-high eight blocks at Colorado (Oct. 6).

Colyer was fourth in the Pac-12 with 471 kills, and fifth in the league with 3.74 kills per set. In the NCAA regional final at Wisconsin, she recorded 20 kills and surpassed 1,000 career kills in the process. Colyer was second on the team with 12 double-doubles and tallied career highs in digs (302) and service aces (44). The Lincoln, Calif., native was tied for fourth in the Pac-12 in total aces.

In her first season with the Ducks, Gonzales was third on the team in kills (354), digs (309) and service aces (29). Her dig total marked a career-high, just eclipsing the 306 figure she had last season at Ohio State. The Marietta, Ga., native averaged 2.81 kills per set and 2.45 digs per set and finished the year with eight double-doubles. Gonzales also established a career-high .249 hitting percentage.

Murphy picked up 3.49 digs per set during her senior campaign and finished fifth in the Pac-12 with 440 digs overall. Including a 13-dig, 10-assist performance at Pitt (Sept. 14), the UO libero tallied 12 matches with at least 10 digs along with at least five assists. Murphy dished out a career-best 145 assists in 2023. The Woodlands, Texas, native ends her UO career with 1,989 digs, good for fourth in program history.
There are 14 players on each of the three AVCA All-America teams—42 total—along with 56 honorable mention selections. Oregon is one of six programs in the country—Louisville, Nebraska, Pitt, Stanford and Wisconsin—with at least three players on the first three teams.
