The Ducks' top doubles tandem of Sophie Luescher and Uxia Martinez Moral broke into the latest ITA doubles rankings at No. 77 after the pair upset Cal's fourth-ranked duo of Jessica Alsola and Katja Wiersholm. Luescher and Martinez Moral have played every match at the No. 1 doubles spot in the lineup and boast an 8-6 record.
Jo-Yee Chan and Ares Teixido Garcia, playing at the No. 2 doubles position, own a team-best 12-1 doubles record this spring and have won three straight doubles matches after their 6-0 win over the Bears' Haley Giavara and Valentina Ivanov.
On the singles side, Martinez Moral leads UO with 11 wins while Chan is second at 10. Playing at No. 2 in the lineup, Teixido Garcia has collected eight victories while Karin Young has tallied six wins playing on courts 3-5.
Oregon seeks to pick up its third ranked win of the season while also looking to snap a season-long three-game skid. The Ducks and Bruins are tied for sixth in the Pac-12 standings, one game behind USC in third.
The Bruins and Trojans will mark five straight – and six of the last seven – ranked opponents UO will face to close the regular season. UCLA upset No. 5 Pepperdine on Wednesday, 4-3, and has won four of its last five matches. USC has also won four of its last five outings, with a 4-3 victory coming at No. 43 Arizona in its last match on April 8.
UCLA's Elise Wagle and Kimmi Hance are currently ranked as the No. 6 doubles team in the country. In their last match, the duo upended the nation's No. 1-ranked doubles team in Pepperdine's Savannah Broadus and Janice Tjen. On the singles side, Fangran Tian leads the Bruins with her No. 19 national ranking while Hance checks in at No. 106.
USC's roster features the 17th- and 44th-ranked doubles squads in Eryn Cayetano/Madison Sieg and Snow Han/Naimo Cheong, respectively. Sieg boasts a national singles ranking of No. 7 and Han is currently at No. 120 in the latest ITA ranks.
The Ducks are 1-26 all-time against the Bruins while going 2-23 against the Trojans. UO defeated USC in 2017 (5-2) and 2021 (4-3), with its lone win over UCLA coming in the form of a 4-3 upset in the 2017 Pac-12 Tournament.
Sunday's match with the Trojans will mark Senior Day, as five Duck seniors will be recognized in a pre-match ceremony: Misaki Kobayashi, Lillian Mould, Madisen Olsen, Myah Petchey and Teixido Garcia.
Following this weekend's matches, Oregon will prepare for the 2023 Pac-12 Tournament, which gets underway on April 26 at the Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai, Calif.
