STANFORD, Calif. – Oregon shot a 1-over par Saturday and will enter Sunday's final round of the Pac-12 Championships five shots behind the leaders.
The 22nd ranked Ducks weathered a challenging third round Saturday at the 6,727-yard, par 70 Stanford Golf Course that saw the leaders come back to the back.
Oregon entered the day 11 shots back of No. 4 Arizona State but the Sun Devils were 9-over in the third round and eventually dropped out of the lead. That left Colorado and Washington tied at the top of the leaderboard at 17-under. ASU and No. 9 Stanford were tied for third at 15-under with the Ducks fifth at 12-under.
Nate Stember matched his career low with a 4-under 66 to lead the Ducks.
"Nate played beautifully and kept us in it," said coach Casey Martin. "We will need an amazing round tomorrow, but it's possible."
How It Happened: Stember had a birdie and two bogeys on his first six holes, but went on a roll over his final 12 holes.
He birdied three of the next four holes – No.7, No. 9 and No. 10. He added birdies at No. 14 and No. 16 and was bogey-free on the back nine.
Overall, he was tied for fifth at 7-under 203, six strokes back of leader Michael Thorbjornsen of Stanford who was at 13-under 197.
Three Ducks – Owen Avrit, Greg Solhaug and Greyson Leach – were tied for 19th at 2-under 208. Solhaug had a 70 Saturday, while Leach had a 71 and Avrit a 72. Aiden Krafft was tied for 30th at 1-over 211.

Notable: Stember's previous round of 66 came at the 2021 Bandon Dunes Championship … Krafft ranks second in the tournament in scoring on par five holes at 8-under … Oregon has counted all 29 of Avrit's rounds this season … The four-round Pac-12 Tournament is a play six, count five format.
