Colyer Named to U21 Pan Am Cup Roster

EUGENE, Ore. – Rising sophomore Mimi Colyer has been named to the 2023 Women's U21 NORCECA Pan American Cup roster, as announced Monday by USA Volleyball. The UO standout is one of 18 that will spend a week (May 14-21) training at the Anaheim National Team Training Center.
Following the team camp, 12 players from the group will be selected to compete at the 2023 Women's U21 Pan Am Cup (May 23-28) in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Colyer makes her debut in the National Team Development Program, and is one of six outside hitters on the 18-woman roster.
Colyer is the reigning AVCA National Freshman of the Year—the first in program history—after a stellar 2022 campaign in Green and Yellow. She was also named the Pac-12 and AVCA Pacific North Freshman of the Year after leading all NCAA freshman with 616.5 points and 533 kills, ranking 10th and 11th in the national overall, respectively.
The Lincoln, Calif., native set a conference record with eight Pac-12 Freshman of the Week selections, and with her 26-kill performance against No. 7 Nebraska in the NCAA regional semifinal, she recorded the Ducks' first 500-kill season since Liz Brenner in 2013.
Colyer was fourth in the Pac-12 with 4.85 points per set and fifth in the league with 4.20 kills per set, all while hitting .265 in her freshman season. She also led the team with 40 aces and averaged 2.01 digs per set and tallied 12 double-doubles.
Oregon finished the year with a 26-6 record and a postseason run to the regional final—Elite Eight—for a third time in program history. The Ducks' win total (26) is tied for third on the program's single-season list and dating back to 2021, UO has won 18-consecutive matches at Matthew Knight Arena including a 14-0 home mark in 2022.
In addition to the Pan Am Cup selection, the roster for the 2023 FIVB U21 World Championship will be announced later this summer.
