Oregon kicked off the second full week of preseason camp Monday afternoon.
The second full week of Oregon's 2023 preseason camp began Monday when the Ducks took to their outdoor practice fields for a workout in full pads.
The practice came after an off day Sunday, which followed the program's first major preseason scrimmage Saturday in Autzen Stadium.
Following Monday's practice, local media met with cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin and two newcomers this season who arrived via the portal, receiver Gary Bryant Jr. and cornerback Nikko Reed.
Video of those interviews is embedded below. A few highlights:
Martin on his group contributing to some takeaways in the scrimmage: "We got our hands on a couple of balls. Being in the right place, playing technique and being where you're supposed to be, you get rewarded. Because technique will set you free."
Martin on what Reed brings to the secondary: "A lot more versatility, as far as, he's a guy that can play inside, he can play outside and then also his return game and on special teams and things like that. Just added an extra piece into that room. He's a plug and play pretty much anywhere that we might need."
Reed on why he joined the Ducks as a transfer: "Oregon was a dream school of mine. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to remind myself that I'm over here."
Bryant on progress so far this preseason: "It's been great. Just getting the connection with the quarterbacks. … I think the offense did a great job (in the scrimmage). I think both quarterbacks — Bo (Nix) and Ty Thompson — they both did a great job driving down the field, making good decisions. I think that was the biggest part, me seeing them making the right decisions."
