Football Practice Recap: Aug. 15
08/15/23 | Football, @GoDucksMoseley
The Ducks practiced for the first time this preseason in the Moshofsky Center on Tuesday.
The Oregon football team was back to practice Tuesday, hitting the two-week mark of this year's preseason camp.
Due to wildfire smoke in the area, the Ducks took practice inside the Moshofsky Center for the afternoon. Heat and humidity still made for a tough environment to get the day's work in.
Afterward, head coach Dan Lanning met with local reporters, his first interview since the Ducks' scrimmage this past Saturday.
Specialists Luke Basso, Ross James and Matthew Rigney also met with local media after Tuesday's practice. All interviews are embedded below.

Some highlights from coach Lanning …
On what he saw on film from the scrimmage: "There was a ton of things, looking back. Ultimately we want to tackle better, we're want to take care of the ball better — a lot of things that I walked away with saying right after the scrimmage still hold true. You've got to play a little bit better situational ball — red area, 2 minute — for both sides of the ball. We have to stop the run better defensively and have to do a better job in those situations offensively."
On areas for improvement over the remainder of camp: "I think there's multiple areas. I mean, there's still some more situations we have to hit that we haven't hit yet. But we've just got to get better playing football. There's a lot of pieces to that puzzle — but it's not one thing. We can't pick one thing that we want to fix, we've got to work on everything. We've got to get better at tackling. We've got to get better at catching the ball, protecting the quarterback — all those things are part of what we're doing moving forward."
On what he hopes to see in the next scrimmage later this week: "Improvement. I just want to see improvement. The things that we did well, did we get better at those? And the things we didn't do well, did we improve?"
