AT A GLANCE
Oregon finishes a five-game road swing and faces its second straight top-10 opponent Sunday, taking on No. 9 USC at 12 p.m. PT at Galen Center.
The game is also the third straight road conference game for the Ducks, whose opponents have a combined record of 36-2 in that span.
Oregon is 30-46 all-time against USC, as the Ducks and Trojans split the season series a year ago. UO is 11-28 on the road in the series and has won 12 of the last 13 meetings overall.
LAST TIME OUT
Oregon suffered a 75-49 loss at second-ranked UCLA Friday night. Phillipina Kyei was the only Duck to score in double figures, leading the team with 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
The Ducks and Bruins each shot 40 percent from the field, but UCLA owned a 46-27 rebounding edge, including a 21-1 advantage in offensive boards, resulting in 32 more field goal attempts and 13 more made field goals.
Playing without starting point guard Chance Gray (injury), UO matched its season high with 20 turnovers. Gray, a sophomore, missed her first career game Friday and leads the Pac-12 at 36.4 minutes a game.
The loss marks the second time this season the Ducks have dropped back-to-back contests.
SCOUTING USC
USC (11-0, 1-1), who has been ranked as high as No. 6, enters Sunday's game as the ninth-ranked team in the country and are coming off a 56-54 win over Oregon State Friday night. The Trojans suffered their only loss last weekend at the hands of cross-town rival and No. 2 UCLA, 71-64.
Freshman phenom JuJu Watkins leads the Pac-12 and ranks second in the country at 26.9 points per game, leading USC in scoring in all 11 games in which she has played. Against the Beavers, she scored 28 points to go with six rebounds and five blocks. She has five 30-point efforts this season and is shooting 45.0 percent from the floor and 44.1 percent from the 3-point line.
USC leads the Pac-12 with a plus-5.3 turnover margin and commit 12.6 turnovers per game, the second-fewest in the league. The Trojan defense ranks ninth in the country and best in the Pac-12 at 6.1 blocks per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Dating back to 1981, Oregon is 30-46 all-time against USC with an 11-28 road record in the series. The Ducks have won 12 of the last 13 meetings, seeing their 12-game winning streak in the series snapped in the last meeting at Galen Center on Feb. 10, 2023, 55-51. Head coach Kelly Graves is 13-3 against the Trojans in his UO career
The sides split the season series a year ago, each winning on its home floor. Oregon earned a 73-45 victory at Matthew Knight Arena on New Year's Day 2023, with Chance Gray scoring 14 points and Phillipina Kyei grabbing 20 rebounds. Over the two games, Gray averaged 10 points and Kyei averaged 17.5 rebounds.
OREGON vs. RANKED TEAMS
USC marks the third top-25 team Oregon will face this season, and second straight after the Ducks suffered a 75-49 loss at No. 2 UCLA on Friday. Earlier this season, UO dropped a 71-51 decision at then-13th-ranked Baylor on Dec. 3. In 2022-23, Oregon went 2-8 against the nation's top 25, picking up wins over No. 17 Arkansas (85-78) and No. 14 Arizona (73-59). The 14-point scoring margin over the Wildcats was the largest by an unranked UO team against a ranked team since beating No. 4 Maryland 77-63 on March 25, 2017. It tied the second-largest ranked win by an unranked Duck team in the Kelly Graves era, trailing only an 88-55 win over 24th-ranked Michigan State on Nov. 22, 2016.
In Graves' tenure, the Ducks have piled up 45 ranked wins over his previous nine seasons. The Ducks are 18-91 all-time on the road against ranked teams and 76-190 in their history against top-25 teams. A win at No. 9 USC would be Oregon's first true road win against a top-10 team since defeating No. 4 Stanford 76-66 on March 8, 2020.
Oregon has nine more games on its schedule against teams currently ranked in the Associated Press top-25 poll, including five of eight games in the month of January.
