Ducks Rally Past SLU for First Win

Oregon (1-4) is off to the Battle for the Bay next weekend.
ELMWOOD, La. – The Oregon beach volleyball team rallied for a 3-2 win over Southeastern Louisiana Saturday morning, giving the Ducks their first win of the opening weekend. In their other results of the day, Oregon dropped duals to North Alabama and New Orleans.
Up next: The Ducks open next month at the Battle for the Bay (March 1-2) with matches against TCU, host Stanford, Saint Mary's and San Jose State.
Match 1 | North Alabama 5, Oregon 0
The Ducks' pair of Jensen Kaelin and Ashley Schroeder struck first by taking the opening set on court two but North Alabama rallied for the three-set win. Coupled with an early loss at No. 4 pairs, the deficit was two after the first wave of matches. The Lions clinched the match with a sweep on court five.

With Oregon down an early point, Landree Coats and Skylar Kelly tied things up with their come-from-behind victory on court four. The UO pair dropped the first set but rallied for a 13-21, 22-20, 15-13 win and the Ducks' first point of the day.
SLU took a 2-1 lead with a win at the top spot of the lineup but Presley McCaskill and Isabel Patterson answered with a 21-18, 21-18 triumph on court five. It was the duo's second win of the weekend and turned the attention to No. 3 pairs where the match would be decided.
While McCaskill and Patterson were closing out their win, Natasha George and Sophie Gregoire fought off a set point as part of a three-point surge to end the opener. The UO pair pulled away in the second, posting a 22-20, 21-6 triumph to clinch the Ducks' first team win of the season.

Skylar Kelly won her second dual of the day, this time paired with Kendall Clark on court five. The pair notched a 21-19, 21-17 victory over Stephanie Gonzalez and Savannah Moberly for the Ducks' point in the 4-1 loss to New Orleans. It was Clark's first appearance in the top-five lineup this season.
UNO took an early 2-0 lead with sweeps at the No. 2 and 4 spots during the first wave of play, and then picked up wins on courts one—a three setter against Daley McClellan and Alina Valenti—and three.
