Pac-12 Play Begins at Mountain Schools

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team, ranked No. 55 and winners of four straight matches, begins Pac-12 play on the road against a pair of ranked foes, first taking on No. 60 Colorado Friday before finishing the weekend at No. 47 Utah on Sunday.

The Ducks have won seven of their last eight matches after two hard-fought victories in Iowa two weeks ago. UO first defeated 60th-ranked Iowa 4-3 before taking down Iowa State two days later by the same score.

Uxia Martinez Moral and Karin Young each lead the team with eight singles wins on the spring season, with Young boasting a team-best 8-1 mark. Jo-Yee Chan is 7-4 this spring, with two wins coming from the No. 2 spot in the Ducks' lineup.

On the double side, Oregon has clinched the doubles point in nine of 11 matches this season and have used 10 different doubles combinations. Freshman Candela Aparisi and Young own a team-best six doubles victories. Chan has six total doubles victories across four different pairings, while Luescher also owns six doubles wins with three different partners.

The Buffaloes enter conference action on a 10-match winning streak, while their 11-1 nonconference record marks their best in program history in terms of winning percentage. Oregon holds a 14-12 lead in the all-time series with CU, and has won three of the last four meetings.

Utah has won four consecutive matches and is 8-3 this spring. The Utes are led by Marcela Lopez, who is ranked No. 75 in the latest ITA singles rankings with a 14-6 singles mark. UO is 10-7 all-time against Utah and has won three straight in the series.
