EUGENE, Ore. – On the heels of a midweek victory, the Oregon beach volleyball team next competes at the Alki Beach Invitational in Seattle. The tournament begins Friday with three dual matchups, including the weekend opener against No. 11 Washington at 10 a.m.
Friday's results will determine team seeding for day two's tournament play. In addition to the host, the Ducks will also face No. 15 Georgia State at 1:45 p.m. followed by a matchup with Boise State at 3 p.m., a third meeting between the two teams this season.
The Ducks will be playing Georgia State for the first time in program history.
Oregon opened the week with a Senior Day victory over Bushnell at Amazon Park. All four seniors were part of a dual win in the 5-0 team sweep. Landree Coats and Bella Gamache notched their team-leading sixth win of the season with a sweep at the No. 3 spot in the lineup.
Senior Ashley Schroeder enters the weekend with 41 career wins, four behind the program record of 45 held by Bea Wetton. Sophomore Natasha George added a career milestone Tuesday with the 20th win of her career, good for a spot in the UO top 10.
Following round-robin play, the Saturday semifinals are scheduled for 10 and 11:15 a.m. to determine the third-place and championship matchups.
