Colyer Named to Big Ten Preseason Team

The Ducks picked sixth in the 18-team Big Ten preseason poll.
EUGENE, Ore. – Mimi Colyer has been named to the 2024 Big Ten Volleyball Preseason All-Conference Team, as announced Thursday by the league office. Collectively, the Ducks were picked sixth in the 18-team Big Ten preseason rankings.
The preseason team and poll were voted on by the conference's head coaches.
Colyer was a 2023 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selection with additional nods to the AVCA All-Pacific North Region and All-Pac-12 teams. She led Oregon with 471 kills and accounted for 4.43 points per set, good for fourth in the Pac-12. Colyer was second on the team with 13 double-doubles and had career highs in digs (302) and aces (44). She was tied for fourth in the Pac-12 in service aces.
The Lincoln, Calif., native had 14 matches with 15 or more kills including four outings with at least 20. In the NCAA regional final at Wisconsin, she registered 20 kills, 12 digs and a service ace. With her 16th kill against the Badgers, she became the 22nd player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills.
Oregon opens the 2024 season with a home match Fri., Aug. 30 against Pittsburgh, the opening contest of the Oregon Invitational. The Ducks will also face Long Beach State (Sept. 1) during the home-opening weekend. The team's first Big Ten schedule starts with back-to-back home matches against Illinois (Sept. 27) and Indiana (Sept. 28).
