Ducks Fall Flat at UCLA
01/31/25 | Men's Basketball
LOS ANGELES – Oregon allowed UCLA to shoot 60 percent on the night, falling 78-52 in Los Angeles. Nate Bittle (13 points) and TJ Bamba were the lone double-digit scorers for the Ducks, as Oregon hit just four-of-23 three pointers, allowing the Bruins to net 11-of-21 from long range. UO never led in the contest and fall to 16-5 on the season.
How It Happened: Oregon's slow starts continued to be a problem, as UCLA connected on seven of their first nine field goal attempts and the Ducks struggled from the field. Trailing by five at the first timeout, the Ducks answered with a run led by Keeshawn Barthelemy, who hit three shots to cut into the lead. The Bruins answered with a nine-zero run to go up 30-18. UCLA finished the half shooting 55 percent from the field and took a 14-point lead, 40-26, into the break.
The Ducks opened up hitting six of their first seven shots in the second half to cut the UCLA lead to single digits. The Bruins answered as Bilodeau and Dailey each reached 14 points midway through the half. UCLA stayed hot on the offensive end and used a seven-zero run to extend their lead to 18, their largest of the night. The Bruin lead soon eclipsed 20, as they stayed in control for the remainder of the game.
Up Next: Oregon is back home on Sunday against Nebraska (4:30 p.m., Big Ten Network).
