Five Ducks Advance in Singles at ITA Northwest Regional

Vlad Breazu and Pierre Mouesca Advance in Doubles
STOCKTON, Calif. – Oregon men's tennis players picked up a number of wins at the ITA Northwest Regional on Friday. Five Ducks advanced to the round of 32 in singles.
In doubles, Vlad Breazu and Pierre Mouesca advanced to the round of 16 with an 8-4 win over a pair from UC Davis. Matthew Burton and Sam Olszakowski also made it to the round of 16 with an 8-0 sweep against Santa Clara, but withdrew from the tournament due to an injury sustained by Burton. Declan Galligan and Dan Hughes won 8-4 in the opening round, but fell short in the second round.
Galligan and Hughes won their way into the main draw of singles on Thursday, with Galligan advancing to the round of 32 with a 6-2, 6-0 win on Friday morning. Pierre Mouesca, Lachlan Robertson, Will Semler and Vlad Breazu all advanced to the round of 32 with wins on Friday. Action gets underway again on Saturday morning.
