EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men's basketball alum Payton Pritchard has been named NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
Pritchard averaged a career-high 14.3 points (.472 FG%, .407 3P%, .845 FT%), 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 28.4 minutes per game. The 2020 consensus All-American set a new NBA record for three pointers off the bench with 246 this season.
Pritchard earned 82 of 100 first-place votes after helping the Celtics to the second-best record in the eastern conference, as Boston pursues a second consecutive NBA title. The fifth-year veteran became the first Celtics player to total over 1,000 points off the bench and led the team with 80 games played.
