McCoy Named to NFCA Freshman Top 25 List

EUGENE, Ore. – Rylee McCoy was named to the NFCA's Freshman of the Year Top 25 list on Friday. She is just the fifth Duck to make the NFCA's Top 25 list.

Nationally among all freshmen, McCoy is third in slugging percentage (.870), sixth in home runs (14) and ninth in batting average (.417). She tied the UO freshman home run record with her 14^th last weekend against No. 6 UCLA.

Among all batters in the Big Ten, McCoy is ninth in home runs, seventh in slugging percentage and 12^th in batting average.

In March, she was named the top freshman in the Big Ten Conference by Softball America.

McCoy hit four home runs to lead Oregon to a 5-0 record at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in February and was named Tournament MVP by D1 Softball. She hit .438 for the tournament (7-of-16) with seven RBI and slugged 1.313.

She hit two homers and had four RBI in the 11-3 win over No. 22 Missouri on Feb. 22. She also had home runs against California and Utah at the Mary Nutter Classic.

For her performance at the tournament, McCoy was named D1 Softball's National Freshman of the Week, as well as the Big Ten's Freshman of the Week.

On May 8, the freshman list will be trimmed to the top 10 and the three finalists will be released on May 22. The winner will be revealed on May 27.
