Four More Drafted As Ducks Break Program Record

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon football program broke its program record for NFL Draft selections in a single year with 10 as four more Ducks went off the board to close out the three-day event on Saturday.
Running back Jordan James was the first Duck taken on Saturday, going to the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round at pick No. 147. Inside linebacker Jeffrey Bassa came off the board nine picks later at No. 156 to the Kansas City Chiefs. Offensive lineman Ajani Cornelius was taken by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round at No. 204 to break the previous program record of eight selections, and wide receiver Tez Johnson rounded out the historic class in the seventh round at No. 235 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
It is the third year in a row that Oregon has had at least six players selected, bringing the total number of Ducks drafted under head coach Dan Lanning to 24. UO's 10 selections breaks the previous record of eight that was established just last year., and is the fourth-most selections of any school in the 2025 NFL Draft.
"Proof is in the pudding, right?" Lanning said. "You're setting the program record for guys being able to get drafted in the NFL this year. Our draft picks have gone up every year since we've been here, and that's really a credit to those players who have worked extremely hard getting an opportunity to live out their dream. Really excited for them and really grateful for everything they did for Oregon."
Oregon had multiple first-round picks for the fourth time in program history and first time since 2015 on Thursday, as defensive lineman Derrick Harmon was selected No. 21 overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers and offensive lineman Josh Conerly Jr. went No. 29 overall to the Washington Commanders.
The Ducks made more history on Friday with four more players coming off the board, setting a new program record for selections in the first three rounds with six. Tight end Terrance Ferguson (Los Angeles Rams) went in the third round followed by defensive end Jordan Burch (Arizona Cardinals), defensive tackle Jamaree Caldwell (Los Angeles Chargers) and quarterback Dillon Gabriel (Cleveland Browns).
