Leach Finishes Second, Ducks Take Fourth at Big Ten Championships
04/27/25 | Men's Golf
BALTIMORE – Greyson Leach battled to shoot an even-par 70 in the final round at the Big Ten Championships on Sunday, finishing in second individually.
Leach wrapped up the tournament at Baltimore Country Club with a 54-hole total of 206, three strokes behind UCLA's Omar Morales, for his second top-two finish this season. The senior was the lone Duck in the lineup to shoot par or better on the day.
Leach's second-place result is the best finish at a conference tournament by a Duck since Wyndham Clark won the 2017 Pac-12 title with an identical 4-under 206.
The Ducks finished fourth as a team at 15-over par for the championships, scoring 15 over in Sunday's final round. No team in the field shot par or better in the finale. UCLA claimed the team title at 2 over.
"Today was a brutal day," head coach Casey Martin said. "We gave it our best, but the conditions and the course humbled us. Greyson and Jay [Gould-Healy] were great however."
Gould-Healy joined Leach in the top 10, finishing even-par for the tournament and tying for seventh. It marks his second top-10 result of the season.
How It Happened
Leach moved to 2 under on the day after birdies on No. 1 and No. 6, but finished the front nine even after back-to-back bogeys on No. 8 and No. 9, his first bogeys of the tournament. A birdie on No. 12 moved the senior back into the red and marked the 400th birdie of his collegiate career. Leach followed it up with another birdie on the 13th, but made two bogeys in his final five holes to finish even.
Gould-Healy, who started the day tied with Leach in third, carded a 4-over 74 in his final round. The junior carded his lone birdie of the day on No. 6, shooting a 37 on each nine.
Eric Doyle shot a 5-over 75, making both of his birdies on the day on the back nine. He finished the tournament 13 over par. Ramil Saelim and Aiden Krafft each carded an 8-over 78 to round out the Duck scoring.
