Grein, Kedre Luschar Named to National POY List

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon pitcher Lyndsey Grein and outfielder Kedre Luschar were announced Wednesday as two of the top 25 finalists for USA Softball's Collegiate Player of the Year.

They are the sixth and seventh Ducks to be named to the USA Softball Top 25 and the first since Cheridan Hawkins in 2015.

Grein leads the nation with 26 wins and is in the top 15 nationally in earned run average (1.52, 11th), strikeouts (184, 14th), WHIP (0.92, 10th) and fewest hits allowed per seven innings pitched (3.87, fourth).

Against five Top 25 opponents this season, Grein is 5-0 with a 0.00 ERA. In six games, she has 33 strikeouts, and allowed 12 hits and no runs in 28.0 innings. She threw a three-hit shutout of No. 6 UCLA on April 20 and tossed a one-hit shutout against No. 8 Florida State on March 7.

This season, Grein has been named the national pitcher of the year by the NFCA twice and has been the Big Ten player of the week twice.

Luschar is hitting .461 on the season, which ranks fourth in the Big Ten and 12th nationally. She's averaging .492 in conference games.

Luschar has hit .333 or better in all seven conference series (.857 vs. Rutgers, .363 vs. Minnesota, .444 vs. Michigan and UCLA, .375 vs. Illinois, .364 vs. Indiana and .333 vs. Washington).

She is a perfect 25-for-25 in stolen bases for a 1.000 percentage which leads the NCAA.

Luschar leads the Ducks in both doubles (14) and triples (four). She had a 14-game hitting streak Feb. 21 to March 14.
The Top 25 Finalists will be narrowed down to 10 athletes on May 14, followed by the Top 3 Finalists set to be released on May 19. The 2025 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be revealed prior to the Women's College World Series.
