Ducks Seek Strong Finish at Auburn Regional
05/13/25 | Men's Golf
AUBURN, Ala. – The Oregon men's golf team continued to battle in the second round of the NCAA Auburn Regional, shooting a combined 12-over 300.
"It was another tough day today," head coach Casey Martin said. "We just can't seem to get anything going and a lot is mistakes."
The Ducks slipped one spot on the leaderboard and sit in 12th heading into Wednesday's final round, 17 shots back from the cut line.
"It's going to take a lot tomorrow to advance but we will do our best," Martin added.
Eric Doyle led the Ducks individually, turning in a 1-over 73 on his scorecard to move 21 spots up the leaderboard. Greyson Leach, who entered the day tied for tenth, still sits in the top 25 after a 3-over 75.
How It Happened
Doyle got off to a slow start after teeing off on No. 10, making three bogeys and a birdie in his first six holes and sat 2 over at the turn. He carded three birdies to go with a double bogey in his last nine holes to finish the day at 1 over and sits tied for 45th place individually.
Leach had more of an up-and-down day on Tuesday then he did in Monday's opening round. The senior matched Doyle for the team lead with four birdies on the day, but also carded three bogeys and a pair of doubles to finish 3 over. At 2 over through 36 holes, Leach will enter Wednesday's final round tied for 23rd place.
