
Men's Tennis Defeats UNC Wilmington 6-1

EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon won five singles matches in straight sets and secured the doubles point to roll past North Carolina Wilmington 6-1 on Sunday.
The Ducks (9-2) took control early by claiming the doubles point with victories on courts three and one. Cameron Burton and Lachlan Robertson opened with a 6-2 win over Alex de Gabriele and Alexander Thompson at No. 3. The 26th-ranked tandem of Matthew Burton and Pierre Mouesca followed with a 6-3 decision against William Dean and Lukas Steffen at No. 1 to clinch the point. The No. 2 match went unfinished at 4-3.
Oregon carried the momentum into singles, winning five of six matches — all in straight sets.
Matthew Burton set the tone with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Tomas Marin at No. 4. Pierre Mouesca added a 6-1, 6-2 win against Jordi Domenech at No. 2, and Lachlan Robertson topped Oscar Baumgartner 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5.
Sam Olszakowski posted a 6-4, 6-4 decision over de Gabriele at No. 3, and Breazu secured a 7-5, 6-4 win against Steffen at the top singles spot.
UNCW's lone point came at No. 6 singles, where Brady Hussey defeated Russell Soohoo 6-3, 7-5.
