Busy Week Begins with Runner Up Finish

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon men's golf team secured a second-place finish on their home course at the 2026 Duck Invitational.
Oregon entered the final round in a three-way tie for fourth and utilized a home course advantage to move up the leaderboard after a touch of wind and rain mixed into Tuesday's play.
Sophomore Ramil Saelim carded his best score of the tournament with a 68 in the final round, while Aiden Krafft's opening score of 5-under 66 was enough to make him the individual runner up to record his best finish on home turf.
The Ducks finished 10 strokes behind No. 9 ranked Illinois, who took home the team title with a 5-over finish for the tournament.
How It Happened
Krafft and played the first round without a blemish on his scorecard and finished with four birdies and as many bogeys for an even second round. The New Mexico native opened the third round with a birdie, bogeyed the next two, and then fired off three consecutive birdies to finish one under in Tuesday's final round.
The Oregon senior finished at No. 2 on the leaderboard just five strokes behind Max Herendeen, the individual champion from Illinois. Krafft carded 14 total birdies, the second most by any player in the tournament.
Ramil Saelim moved 28 spots up on the leaderboard after shooting 2-under 68 on Tuesday. In a fashion that mirrored last year's comeback for a third-place finish, the sophomore shot his best round of the tournament, highlighted by a stellar back-nine with three birdies to finish in seventh place individually. Saelim carded Oregon's best round of the day and ended the tournament with 13 total birdies.
After shooting a level second round to conclude Monday's play, Casper Nerpin went 5-over to finish 6-over for the tournament. The freshman duo of Oscar Lent and Sebastian Desoisa made their debuts on the course, each finishing with high scores after a slow start to the tournament to round out Oregon's counting scores.
Competing individually, Jeffrey Kwak finished just outside the top 10 going 3-over for the tournament. Kwak carded a low 69 in yesterday's opening round and finished in 12th overall. Kyreece Romero came in three strokes behind for a top-25 finish.
Teddy Vigna and Tim Chang each lowered their scores in second round of the tournament, but finished with high marks as individuals.
