Ducks Set Single-Season Wins Record
04/12/26 | Women's Beach Volleyball
Oregon is 15-14 going into next week’s regular-season finale in Seattle.
HONOLULU, O'ahu – The Oregon beach volleyball team set a new single-season program record Sunday with its 15th win, beating Santa Clara at the Ching Complex in Honolulu. The Ducks rallied for the 3-2 win to eclipse the previous record of 14 victories in 2022. In the team's weekend finale, Oregon fell to No. 16 and weekend host Hawai'i.
Â
Individually, senior Natasha George moved into a tie for first on the program's career wins list (45), and now shares the top spot with former UO standout Bea Wetton.
Â
With the dual tied at 2-all, Bella Gamache and Liz Rossi rallied from a set down to clinch the victory over Santa Clara—18-21, 24-22, 15-9—at No. 2 pairs. It was the duo's third win of the weekend that included Friday's clinching point also against the Broncos.
Â
The Ducks took the early 1-0 lead with a sweep at No. 5 pairs by George and Landree Coats before Santa Clara registered the next two points with wins at the No. 3 and 4 spots in the lineup.
Â
Oregon pulled even on the match scoreboard with a 21-17, 21-18 win by Gwen Fife and AJ Slojkowski at the top spot. As that dual was finishing, Gamache and Rossi was forcing a decisive third set at court two. The two Ducks pulled ahead early and when an SCU serve sailed long, the comeback and record-setting result was complete.
Â
Against the 16th-ranked Rainbow Wahine, the Ducks were once again the first team on the board with a 21-19, 21-10 win by Hanna Bjornson and Sofia Taylor at No. 4 pairs. In a nailbiter in the No. 5 spot, Coats and George lost in three sets—15-13 in the third—and the score was tied 1-all heading into the second wave of matches.
Â
Hawaii clinched the match at No. 2 pairs, another three-set setback for UO, and went on for the 4-1 dual win.
