Student Athlete of the Week - Nov. 5 - Nov. 11
Gorana Maricic has been named the GoDucks.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of November 5 - November 11.
OH Gorana Maricic, a junior originally from Subotica, Serbia, led an explosive Duck's Volleyball team that upset No.6 USC and No. 9 UCLA on back to back nights last week at Mac Court. Maricic led the 20th ranked Ducks to a 3-1 victory over USC on Thursday, posting a match high 29 kills (.436) and 14 digs. She came back with the same tenacity on Friday, helping the team to a sweep of UCLA with 25 kills (.327) and 12 digs for her 10th double-double of the season. The win over UCLA broke Oregon's 40 match losing streak to the Bruins that dates back to 1987.
Maricic will now lead the Ducks into their final home game of the season this Friday, hosting Oregon State in the second leg of the Northwest Dodge Civil War Series at 7:00 at Mac Court.
