Thomas Embree joined the Oregon athletic medicine staff in September 1995 handling day-to-day treatment for Oregon student-athletes.
Embree joined the Ducks after spending seven years at Eastern Washington University where he served as the head athletic trainer. Embree was named the director of sports medicine at EWU in 1991 where he was responsible for the development and implementation of the athletic training curriculum while advising athletic training interns and sports medicine majors.
Prior to EWU, Embree was the head athletic trainer for the Spokane Chiefs hockey team from 1988-90 where he was in charge of the conditioning program, travel arrangements and medical insurance.
Embree’s athletic training career began at Oregon where he was a graduate assistant from 1986-88. While serving as GA, he was the primary athletic training student assistant for football and men’s basketball while teaching the human anatomy lab to undergraduates in the biology department.
Embree earned both his bachelors (1984) and Master’s degree (1986) in sports medicine from the University of Oregon.
