In 2006-07, ranks third among Duck returnees in the 1,500 meters based on season bests. Was a 2006 Pac-10 and West Regional qualifier in the 1,500 meters and lowered his personal best in the event by almost seven seconds over the course of the outdoor season. Joined Ducks in 2005-06 after he attended Portland State University for three seasons and ranked as one of the fastest middle distance runners in Viking school history. As a prep, was a state qualifier in both cross country and in the 1,500 and 3,000.
2005-06: Pac-10 Qualifier (1,500 meters). Enjoyed one of team’s biggest breakthroughs late in outdoor season and lowered 1,500 personal best by 3.83 seconds in regular season finale, the Oregon Twilight (fifth, 3:47.69), and ranked second on team at season’s end. Made Pac-10 Championships debut the following weekend and was 1.65 seconds from qualifying for the final (16th-prelim, 3:52.25). Ended season with West Regional debut (19th-prelims, 4:03.10, @ 4,553 feet elevation). Entered outdoor season with previous personal best of 3:54 from 2005. Ranked fifth on team indoors in mile (4:11.51). Altogether, competed in seven races outdoors in the 800 (1), 1,500 (5), 5,000 (1), and in three mile contests indoors. Did not compete in cross country. Before Oregon: Ranked top-10 in Portland State indoor school history in distance medley relay (1,600 anchor leg, first, 10:18.85), 3,000 (second, 8:24.17) and mile (seventh, 4:18.76). Scored in 2005 Big Sky Championships outdoors in Flagstaff (1,500, seventh, 4:04.85) and indoors in Pocatello (3,000, seventh, 8:44.73). Also competed in indoor conference finale as a sophomore in '04 and anchored distance medley relay to school record (10:18.84). Ran freshman 5,000 outdoor best of 15:05.20 in 2003 Oregon Invitational in Eugene. Competed three seasons in cross country, and ran Big Sky Championships in 2002 in Pocatello, Idaho (48th, 29:15.6), in '03 in Flagstaff, Ariz. (30th, 28:02) and in '04 in Bozeman, Mont. (41st, 26:38.00).
Prep: State qualifier as a senior in 2001 4A state cross country championships (63rd, 17:08) and was second finisher for the McMinnville squad that took 12th in the team race. Also competed in state track finale as senior in 2002 in the 1,500 (15th, 4:04.77) and 3,000 (sixth, 8:49.29). Pac-9 Conference champion in 3,000 as a senior. Three-year letterwinner in cross country and track and field. High School (Coach): McMinnville '02 (Vic Downs).
