Trae Hackett

Trae Hackett joined the Oregon athletic department in 2017, and works as an associate athletic director for football player engagement. Hackett came to Eugene along with head coach Willie Taggart after spending three years at South Florida as assistant director of football operations.
Prior to joining Taggart at South Florida, Hackett worked alongside Taggart at Western Kentucky for three seasons as assistant director of football operations. The year before moving into that role, Hackett was the quality control coordinator on the WKU coaching staff, helping to oversee all aspects of the program.
A four-year letter winner for WKU at linebacker from 1995-98, Hackett recorded 257 career tackles, including 18 tackles for loss and seven sacks in his career. Hackett finished as the team leader in tackles during his senior season with 79, and had a career-high 94 tackles as a sophomore. As a senior, Hackett was a team captain alongside Taggart.
Hackett was an all-state performer at Male High School in Louisville, Ky., where he was a three-year letter winner on the gridiron, winning a state championship. He went on to graduate from Western Kentucky in 2000 with a degree in marketing, and in 2002 he earned his Master’s degree in physical education and athletic administration with an emphasis in sports administration.
Hackett and his wife, Tara, have three children, a daughter, Taylor, and two sons, Trent and Teagan.
