2010 — Game-high seven solo stops among his career-best eight tackles in win at Tennessee • Made three solo stops in win vs. New Mexico • Held out of contact drills during spring practice while recovering from injury.
2009 — Team’s seventh-leading tackler (50) accumulated six tackles at UCLA but struck a defining blow with his second interception in as many weeks • Returned his pick for a 32-yard touchdown • Led the Ducks in interceptions with four (tied for 4th in the Pac-10) in addition to tying for seventh in the league in passes defended (0.8 avg.) • Has developed the knack for making the big play at the right time, with his fourth-quarter pick in the end zone at Arizona supplying Oregon with the opportunity to drive for a tying score in the final 3 minutes of a double-overtime win • Missed most of the win at Washington with a back ailment before returning the following week to face USC • Secured a new personal best with seven stops vs. the Trojans (six unassisted) to go along with one pass broken up • First posted six tackles in the season opener at Boise State, including first-ever tackle for loss • Accumulated five tackles each of the next two weeks vs. Purdue and Utah • Was held without a tackle against Washington State, however returned an interception 24 yards in addition to breaking up one pass • Seldom left the field, accumulating 100 snaps or more in four games while looming as one of team’s two players to tally more than 1,000 plays for the year.
2008 — Fifth-leading tackler among defensive backs with 30 stops (20 unassisted) • Two interceptions tied for third on the squad • Earned special teams game ball for effort at USC • Top reserve among the secondary, received first career start vs. Boise State • Posted a career-high five stops at Purdue (all unassisted) while contributing four tackles against USC, Arizona State and Arizona • Credited with two pass breakups and first career interception against the Broncos • Made a key second-half interception vs. the Wildcats • Appeared in all 13 games, playing 70 or more plays on three occasions • Returned five kickoffs for 59 yards • Clocked as team’s fastest defensive back during winter workouts, finishing the electronic 40 yards in 4.65 seconds.
2007 — Found his way onto the field for all 13 games as a true freshman, playing a key role on special teams and in the secondary on pass defense packages • Recorded tackles in seven games, including two apiece vs. Fresno State and at UCLA • Had a 32-play effort vs. the Bulldogs and again vs. South Florida in the Sun Bowl • Selected as Oregon’s special teams player of the game vs. Arizona State.
HIGH SCHOOL — Excelled on both sides of the football while ranking among the top 10 defensive backs in California as well as among the elite 55 overall prospects in the state • The three-star recipient (Rivals.com, Scout.com) received votes from the Long Beach Press-Telegram’s Best in the West panel after ranking 42nd in the state in scoring (158 points) and finishing second in the Southwestern League in rushing • Ran for 2,081 yards (7.9 avg.) and 24 touchdowns in 2006, while adding 18 catches for 392 yards and four more scores • Included were 313 yards on the ground vs. Centennial as well as parlaying five receptions for 170 yards and six kickoff returns for 107 yards against Valley View • Also contributed 42 tackles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries (one for a TD) on defense his senior season • The all-league and all-Valley choice played a major role in the Pumas’ 11-3 record to earn third-team all-state accolades (calhisports.com).
