HIGH SCHOOL
Named 5A state player of the year as a senior and was a three-time first-team all-state selection ... Helped lead West High School to 5A UHSAA state title game in her junior and senior seasons ... As a senior, averaged 25.7 points, 7.2 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 6.2 steals per game ... Turned in 14 double-doubles and five triple-doubles during the 2025-26 season ... Averaged 19.6 points, 5.6 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 steals per game as a junior at West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah … Started all four seasons at West while averaging double-digit points each year and shooting 32 percent from the 3-point line … In her four-year prep career, averaged 18.7 points, 6.0 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 5.3 steals per game … Totaled 1,869 points in her high school career ... She is the younger sister of former Oregon guard Nani Falatea (2024-25).
Graves on Falatea: La’u Pele is an incredibly smart, hard-nosed guard that possesses excellent skills and can shoot the three, but she can also score off the bounce and get to the rim. She’s physical and can play the point as well as off the ball. She plays like a veteran, and the game never seems to move too fast for her. She’s poised and reminds me a lot of her sister Nani, who Duck fans will remember. La’u Pele comes from a winning program in Utah and a family full of athletes. She is going to be a great fit off the court and will be a terrific teammate.
