Ron Beick enters his sixth year with the Ducks and fifth as the volunteer assistant coach. Beick brings 39 years of coaching experience to the sideline with him, spending time at the high school and club levels since 1979.
Beick was the volunteer assistant for the Ducks in 2015 and 2016 before serving as a full-time assistant during the 2017 season. He returned to the volunteer assistant role prior to the 2018 season. The Ducks have reached the NCAA Tournament in four of Beick's five seasons on staff.
In 2018, Beick helped lead the Ducks to one of the best seasons in the program's history. Oregon went 23-11 overall and reached the NCAA Elite Eight with a thrilling upset of No. 2 Minnesota on the Gophers' home floor in the Sweet Sixteen, and the Ducks tied for second in the Pac-12 to match the best conference finish in program history. Beick also helped groom a program-record five all-Americans for the Ducks in Ronika Stone (2nd), August Raskie (3rd), Lindsey Vander Weide (3rd), Willow Johnson (HM) and Brooke Nuneviller (HM).
Beick has 29 years of experience at the high school level, boasting a 524-188 overall record during his time at four different schools. He most recently coached at North Medford High School (1994-2008) where he was named Oregon Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2007.
The Alhambra, Calif., native also co-founded three club programs, including the Rogue Valley Volleyball Club.
Beick earned a Bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego while acquiring a Master’s degree from UCLA.
He and his wife Molly have three sons, Kevin, Doug and Tim. Kevin and Doug graduated from UO and Tim is currently a UO student completing his degree in Psychology.
