LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Kennedy Winston scored 27 points and made a jumper with 4.5 seconds left to lift Alabama past Oregon 87-86 Saturday at the Las Vegas Showdown.
Oregon's Luke Jackson nearly won the game for the Ducks at the buzzer, but his running shot rimmed in and out.
A 3-pointer from Andre Joseph with 1:01 left gave Oregon an 86-83 lead in a game that featured nine ties and 13 lead changes.
But a Chuck Davis dunk and a defensive stop set the table for Winston's heroics.
Earnest Shelton had 16 points for Alabama, Antoine Pettaway had 12 and Thomas Emmett and Davis had 11 apiece.
Alabama (6-2) led 54-46 at the half, but Oregon (4-2) hit six second-half 3-pointers and quickly erased the deficit.
The Ducks went on a 13-6 run over the first four minutes of the second half and trailed 61-59.
Ian Crosswhite led Oregon with a season-high 21 points and eight rebounds. Joseph had a season-high 17 and Jackson added 15 for the Ducks.
Alabama shot 58 percent in the first half, highlighted by back-to-back 3-pointers from Emmett Thomas to take an 18-16 lead at the 12:52 mark.
