Ducks Stumble at Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge

GLENVIEW, Ill. -- The Oregon men's golf team shot a 305 and was 14th following the first round of the Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge, played Monday at the 7,149-yard, par 72 The Glen Club. The second round was suspended due to darkness with six teams still on the course.
Junior Matt Ma shot an opening round 74 and was tied for 30th. Other counting scores for the Ducks came from senior Gregg LaVoie (75) and sophomores Derek Sipe (77) and Joey Benedetti (79).
Host Northwestern shot a 286 to take the opening round lead. Ohio State was second at 287 and Arizona State was third at 288.
The second round will be completed beginning at 5:15 a.m. Pacific time Tuesday with the final round scheduled to get underway at 7:30.
