One day after shutting out No. 12 UCLA, Oregon pitcher Amy Harris (17-13) was brilliant again, striking out eight batters and allowing just five hits en route to winning by shut out for the ninth time this season. Harris continually fought off the Husky offense as Washington stranded nine batters in the game and had runners in scoring position in the first, second, third and sixth innings. Harris has not allowed an earned run in her last 14 innings pitched and has 15 strikeouts in her last two performances.
"We battled all day," Oregon head coach Kathy Arendsen said. "We didn't strike out all that much and we kept making contact so I knew we'd come around. The important thing is to play and battle for seven innings and we did that today."

Noble (14-8) had retired 17 consecutive batters before walking junior Beth Boskovich and senior Ashley Richards with one out in the seventh. Sabol then hit her first home run of the season to finally get the Ducks on the board. Sophomore Kayleen Hudson follwed with a single to left field as the Ducks finished the game with two hits.
Washington loaded the bases in the first inning, but Harris struck out first baseman Sarah Hyatt to end in the inning. In the second, the Huskies had a runner in scoring position with one out, but Harris struck out Jacki Hansen and forced leadoff hitter Dominique Lastrapes to line out to shortstop.
Harris pitched with runners on and two outs again in the third and struck out Hyatt a second time to get out of the jam. In all, the Huskies left six runners stranded in the first three innings, but in the fourth, Harris retired the side, including two strikeouts and allowed no hits in the fifth.
Husky center fielder Aimee Minor singled to lead off the sixth inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Hyatt. Minor then went to third on groundout by Noble and Harris walked Lauren Greer to put runners at the corners with two outs, but Oregon catcher Ashley Richards threw Greer out at second on an attempted steal as theHuskies stranded their eighth and ninth runners of the game in the inning.
With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Ashley Charters singled to keep the Huskies hopes alive, but Harris finished her fine performance by forcing a pop up by catcher Kristen Rivera.
