SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. ? In seven matches and 21 games, the Oregon volleyball team has yet to falter, and that trend continued on Tuesday night at War Memorial Gym, as the Ducks defeated San Francisco in three games (30-22, 32-30, 30-26).

Oregon remains undefeated (7-0) and has not dropped a game in 2007. The Dons fall to 5-2 on the year, with both of their losses coming against Pacific-10 competition (Oregon and Washington).

Junior Gorana Maricic set a new single-season high in 2007 with 23 kills in the match. The Div. II All-American who transferred to Oregon from Northwoods University, hit .488 (23-3-41) on the evening, and added seven digs, one block assist and one service ace for 24.5 points. It was the 6-foot-3 outside hitter's second consecutive match with at least 20 kills.

Freshman Heather Meyers, coming off a tournament MVP performance at the Baylor Invitational, also reached double figures with 11 kills, and also matched her career high with eight assists. In addition, the Temecula, Calif., native had four block assists.

Oregon hit .294 in the match, while San Francisco hit .227 led by Sarah Mandala (11 kills) and Carly Babin (10 kills). It was the first time in 2007 the Ducks allowed an opponent to hit over .200.

The teams were even in net defense with 9.0 blocks each, as Oregon was led by junior Kristen Forristall's six total blocks (one solo, five assists).

Once again the tandem of sophomore setter Nevena Djordjevic and freshman setter Rachel Morris led the attack with 24 and 21 assists apiece, respectively.

Junior Katie Swoboda had a match-high 20 digs, while sophomore Sonja Newcombe added a season-high 12 digs. Senior Karen Waddington was productive on offense hitting .556 (6-1-9).

After playing its last four matches away from McArthur Court, the Ducks will return to The Pit this weekend with back-to-back matches against Rutgers on Friday and Saturday. Both match times are set for 7 p.m.

QUICK QUACKS: Head coach Jim Moore is 28-1 in non-conference action in his three seasons at Oregon...the Ducks are now 9-1 against San Francisco all-time...Oregon's stretch of not dropping a game in its last 21 is the longest since the start of the rally scoring era 2001...Oregon received 26 votes in the current CSTV/AVCA Coaches' poll.
