PULLMAN, Wash. ? The No. 6 University of Oregon volleyball team added another win vs. a Pacific Northwest rival with its fifth straight three-set victory over Washington State Sunday.
UO (15-4, 4-3) cruised to a 25-17, 25-20, 25-12 decision ? its 12th three-set victory of the season and third in Pac-10 action ? while Washington State (7-12, 0-8) remained winless in Pac-10 play.
The Ducks hit .354 for the match ? its 10 match at .300 or better ? and more than doubled the Cougars' mark (.165).
Junior Neticia Enesi hit a career-high .786 (12 kills, 1 error, 14 attempts) and tied the fourth-best hitting mark all-time in a match for Oregon. Enesi's former best mark (.714) came vs. Ohio State in 2007, and her kill total Sunday was only one shy of her season best (13) vs. UNLV in the Oregon Classic in Eugene in early September.
All-America senior Gorana Maricic ended with 11 kills (.375), and seniors Kristen Forristall (.429) and Marija Milosevic added seven kills. The latter's kill tally tied her season high vs. North Carolina this season and was only one off her career best (8) vs. UCLA in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 showdown last December in Palo Alto.
Enesi also paced the team in blocks (3) for the 10th time this season, and was tied with Forristall and sophomore Heather Meyers in the category Sunday.
Junior setter Nevena Djordjevic finished with 33 assists, and her eight digs left her two shy of her fourth double-double of the season and 15th of her career.
Senior libero Katie Swoboda added 13 digs and led UO for the 17th time this year.
For Washington State, Cassie Robbins topped the home team in kills (8) and hitting (.444), and setter Renee Bordelon piled up 30 assists. The Cougars had six players finish with 4-6 digs each, and two players ended with two blocks.
