Maila Ribero had 41 digs during freshman season at Arizona State.
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon volleyball head coach Trent Kersten had added depth to the Ducks' back row defense with the signing of Maila Ribeiro. She comes to Eugene after spending her freshman season at Arizona State.
Â
Maila Ribeiro
5-6 | Libero/Def. Specialist
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Arizona State)
Â
Ribeiro appeared in 41 sets over 18 matches for Arizona State which finished first in the Big 12 last year and advanced to the regional round of the NCAA Tournament. She had four or more digs in six matches including a season-high seven digs in a win over FGCU. Ribeiro also had a pair of five-dig efforts against Texas and GCU.
Â
The Rio de Janeiro native delivered her first-career ace in a win at BYU to go along with four digs.
Â
Ribeiro brings international experience as a member of Brazil's junior national team. She was named the Best Libero at the U19 and U21 national championships, and helped the U19 team to a runner-up finish at the South American championships.
Â
Kersten Says…
"Maila brings high-level experiences from the Big 12 and the Brazilian junior national team environment. She immediately raises the level of competitiveness and professionalism in our gym, and we are excited about the immediate impact she will make on our culture as we continue to build a championship-level environment here at Oregon."
Â
Ribeiro is the fourth transfer signee for the Ducks, joining Marina Crownover, Sjakkie Donkers and Dalia Vîrlan, all of whom are already on campus. High school signees Alaina Pollard and Lizzy Robinson joined the team ahead of winter term, while fellow prep standouts Laura Eichert and Marlena Gracia will arrive in Eugene this summer.
Â
The Big Ten recently announced the 2026 opponent rotation which will see Oregon host Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue, Rutgers and Washington. The full schedule including dates, times and TV designations will be announced later.
