Graf Leads Ducks in Ihlanfeldt Second Round

SAMMAMISH, Wash. – The No. 32-ranked University of Oregon women's golf team climbed four spots Tuesday in Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational second-round action hosted by the University of Washington at the Sahalee Country Club.
The Ducks shot the seventh-best score of the day with their 27-over score of 315 to give them an overall score of 641 and stand in a tie for seventh overall in the 13-team field.
Overall, No. 13 California owned a 10-stroke lead (296-303-599), while No. 24 Stanford improved a position into second place (308-301-609). No. 8 Pepperdine jumped three positions Tuesday to move into third place (311-302-613), and was followed by San Francisco (fourth, 301-313-614) and No. 45 San Jose State (fifth, 309-311-620).
Individually for UO, junior Monika Graf carded UO's lowest score of the tournament so far and was tied for 39th overall (86-76-162) Junior Kendra Little still led the Ducks in the overall standings (30th-t, 82-78-160), and UO's other scorers Tuesday included senior Kate Hildahl (46th-tie, 84-79-163) and junior Erica Omlid (36th-tie, 79-82-161). Freshman Cheyenne Hickle rounded out the Oregon contingent (52nd-tie, 81-84-165).
For the day, three Ducks each carded three birdies - Graf (par-4 #1, par-5 #2, par-3 #5), Hildahl (par-5 #2 and 6, par-4 #7) and Graf (par-3 #5 and 13, and par-4 #16). Little also had a pair of birdies on the par-4 third and par-5 18th holes, and Hickle logged her second birdie of the tourney Tuesday on the par-5 11th.
For comparison's sake, Oregon's opening round standings from Monday follow: Omlid (26th, 79), Hickle (38th-t, 81), Little (49th-t, 82), Hildahl (57th, 84) and Graf (62nd, 86).
Overall on the individual front, California's Pia Halbig improved a spot Tuesday to move into the lead (73-73-146) by one stroke over teammate Emily Childs (second, 73-74-147). First-day leader Natasha Podmore of San Francisco followed in a tie for third (72-76-148) with Katrina Delen Briones of San Jose State (73-75-148).
