Little Sets Tone For No. 32 Ducks in Ihlanfeldt Finale

SAMMAMISH, Wash. – The No. 32-ranked University of Oregon women's golf team capped Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational third- and final-round action in eighth place Wednesday at the Sahalee Country Club.
The Ducks combined on their best score of the tourney in the third round (a 26-over 314) to place eighth overall (326-315-314-955) in the 13-team field.
Individually for UO, junior Kendra Little tied UO's best score of the tourney with her 4-over 76 – the sixth time that she's paced the squad in her nine rounds this fall. Her 28th-place finish overall (82-78-76-236) was the third time that she's led the Ducks this season after she won her first two tourneys. The Eugene native has now topped UO in the final standings in 12 of her 25 career appearances as a collegian.
Following one stroke back with their five-over 77's Wednesday, junior Monika Graf and senior Kate Hildahl tied for 35th (86-76-77-239) and 37th overall (84-79-77-240), respectively, while junior Erica Omlid was UO's final scorer Wednesday (45th, 79-82-84-245). Freshman Cheyenne Hickle followed in a tie for 59th (81-84-87-252).
On the day, Graf added three more birdies (par-3 #5 and 13, Par-4 #7) to give her a team-best six in the tourney. Three others had single birdies Wednesday – Hickle (Par-5 #2), Hildahl (par-5 #6) and Little (par-5 #6) – and their total birdie counts for the tourney follow: Hildahl (4), Hickle (3), Little (3), Omlid (1),
For comparison's sake, here were UO's placings on previous days at the University of Washington-hosted event: Tuesday (Second Round): Little (30th-t), Graf (39th-t), Hildahl (46th-t), Omlid (36th-t), Hickle (52nd-t) / Monday (First Round): Omlid (26th), Hickle (38th-t), Little (49th-t), Hildahl (57th) and Graf (62nd).
In the overall team standings, No. 13 California led for the third straight day and added five strokes to its lead (296-303-298-897) to finish 15 strokes ahead of No. 24 Stanford (second, 308-301-303-912). No. 8 Pepperdine held onto third place (311-302-304-917), and was followed by No. 57 San Francisco (fourth, 301-313-307-921) and No. 45 San Jose State (fifth, 309-311-314-934).
Overall on the individual front, Katrina Delen Briones of San Jose State shot a 2-under 71 to improve two spots and win (73-75-71-219) by one stroke over San Francisco's Natasha Podmore (72-76-72-220) who also entered the round tied for third. California's Emily Childs followed in third place (73-74-74-221), while the leader after the second round and teammate, Pia Halbig, dropped into a tie for sixth (73-73-78-224).

Looking ahead, the Ducks look forward to their final fall event in four weeks, the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate, Monday-Wednesday, November 2-4 in Kahuku, Hawai'i.
