Hildahl Leads No. 41 Ducks in Turtle Bay Finale

KAHUKU, Hawai'i – In its final action of the fall season, the No. 41-ranked University of Oregon women's golf team climbed two positions in Turtle Bay Collegiate Invitational third and final round action Wednesday.
The Ducks shots a 301 Wednesday to finish fifth overall (292-303-301-896), behind No. 27 UC Davis (first, 281-290-297-868), No. 1 UCLA (second, 292-289-296-877), No. 8 USC (third, 291-290-298-879) and No. 10 California (fourth, 290-287-306-883).
Individually on the par-72 6,535-yard Turtle Bay Resort course, junior Kendra Little led UO in the overall standings for the third straight day (seventh-tie, 71-71-75-217).
UO's other scorers Wednesday included sophomore Ashley Edwards (19th-t, 74-73-76-223), senior Kate Hildahl (23rd, 73-79-73-225) and junior Erica Omlid (51st-t, 76-80-77-233), while junior Monika Graf (61st-t, 74-81-80-235) rounded out the Duck contingent.
For comparison's sake, here were Oregon's second- and first-round placings– Little (sixth / sixth), Hildahl (38th-t / 18th-t), Graf (57th-t / 23rd-t), Edwards (18th-t / 23rd-t) and Omlid (65th-t / 43rd-t).
Hildahl's team-best, 1-over 73 third round was the first time that she has led UO this season and 10th time overall in her collegiate career. Little's top scores the first two rounds marked her seventh and eighth this season, and 34th and 35th overall among her 78 career rounds.
Glancing at UO's scorecards Wednesday, Edwards carded two birdies (on the par-4 #6 and par-3 #15 holes), as did Graf (par-4 #5 and par-5 #18 holes) and Omlid (par-4 #6 and par-3 15th holes), while Hildahl and Little each carded one birdie on the par-4 #14 and Par-5 #18 holes.
Little added seven birdies the first two days (4 Tuesday, 3 Monday), and other combined Duck birdie counts for the first two rounds follow: Hildahl (5), Edwards (4), Graf (2), Omlid (1)
Overall on the individual leaderboard, USC's Lizette Salas improved a place and won the event by five strokes Wednesday (71-67-70-208) over Cristina Corpus of San Jose State (second-tie, 68-71-74-213) and Amy Simanton of UC Davis (second-tie, 74-71-68-213).
