Ducks lose home game to Cal, 78-60

EUGENE, Ore. -- The University of Oregon men's basketball team fell at home to Cal, 78-60, in front of a crowd of 7,529 on Thursday night at McArthur Court in Eugene, Ore.
Oregon dropped to 6-20 overall and 0-14 in conference action. The Golden Bears improved to 20-6 overall and 9-4 in league play.
Junior guard Tajuan Porter scored a team-best 19 points on 7-of-19 shooting from the floor. Fellow junior Joevan Catron added 12 points and a team-best seven rebounds. Freshman center Michael Dunigan had eight points and six rebounds for the Ducks.
Oregon shot 33.9 percent from the floor (21-of-62), while hitting just 5-of-26 from behind the 3-point arc (19.2 percent). UO was 13-of-17 from the free throw line (76.5 percent).
Harper Kamp came off the bench to score a career-high 18 points for the Golden Bears. Jerome Randle had 17 points, Patrick Christopher added 16 points, and Jamal Boykins contributed 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Cal hit 53.7 percent of its shots (29-of-54) and 45.8 percent from behind the 3-point arc (45.8 percent). The Bears finished the game 17-of-20 from the charity stripe (85.0 percent).
Oregon returns to action on Saturday night with a home game against Stanford. Tip-time for the Ducks-Cardinal match-up is scheduled for 5:07 p.m. (PST) at McArthur Court in Eugene.
