Ducks top Stanford, 68-60

EUGENE, Ore. -- The University of Oregon men's basketball team snapped a 14-game conference losing streak with a 68-60 home win over Stanford on Saturday evening in Eugene. The win improved the Ducks to 7-20 overall and 1-14 in conference action. The Cardinal dropped to 15-10 on the season and 4-10 in league play.
Three Oregon players scored in double figures, led by freshman center Michael Dunigan who tallied team-highs with 14 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore guard LeKendric Longmire had 11 points and six rebounds for UO, while junior forward Joevan Catron contributed with 10 points and a team-best four assists.
Stanford also had three players score in double figures, led by Landry Fields who scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the floor. Lawrence Hill had 18 points and Anthony Goods had 16 points for the Cardinal. Goods made 10-of-12 from the free throw line.
Oregon shot 41.4 percent from the field (24-of-58), while hitting 5-of-14 on 3-pointers (35.7 percent). The Ducks went 15-of-18 from the free throw line for 83.3 percent.
Stanford made 21-of-53 shots from the floor for 39.6 percent. The Cardinal hit 4-of-13 of their 3-point attempts (30.8 percent) and 14-of-19 from the free throw line (73.7 percent).
The Ducks held a 32-14 advantage in points in the paint, while also holding a 24-6 advantage in second-chance points. The Ducks' bench out-scored the Stanford bench, 23-18, with freshman guard Matt Humphrey spearheading that attack with nine points in 19 minutes.
Oregon (7-20, 1-14 Pac-10) will return to action next Sunday with a home game against Oregon State (13-13, 7-8 Pac-10). Tip-time is scheduled for 7 p.m. (PST) at McArthur Court in Eugene. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net.
