Wolff Wins Javelin at Sea Ray Relays
04/11/09 | Track and Field
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Alex Wolff threw 231 feet even to win the men's javelin Saturday at the Sea Ray Relays at Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
Wolff, a junior from Newberg, Ore., threw 18 feet farther than the second-place finisher, Matt Evans of Western Carolina (212-10).
Also on a follow up note, as a result of technical difficulties due to the severe weather that passed through Knoxville on Friday, complete official results of the women's javelin were not available until today.
The storms that delayed the meet for 3:30 and knocked power out at the stadium prevented Ashley McCrea's fourth-place throw of 142-11 from being reported.
As first reported from partial results yesterday, the Ducks' Rachel Yurkovich won the event with a meet and stadium record with a throw of 190-0.
