
Farin Victorious Again At ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Kevin Farin won his second round Qualifying Singles match, 7-6 (4), 6-2, at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., Tuesday afternoon. Farin defeated Sam Shropshire of Northwestern in straight sets.
"Kevin played really solid today and kept it together against a good Northwestern opponent," associate head coach Jonas Piibor said. "It was a real battle out there and Kevin showed toughness and grit."
After playing a tight first set, Farin dispatched Shropshire convincingly in a decisive second set. Farin posted a 7-3 singles record last fall, this year he is 2-0.
Farin and Daan Maasland dropped their Qualifying Doubles opening round match to Eric Diaz and Nathan Pasha of Georgia, 6-4, 6-3. The match was the first time that Maasland and Farin had played together in doubles.
Farin will face California's Andre Goransson tomorrow. Goransson was an All-Pac-12 honorable mention last season with a 21-10 record at No. 4 singles.
