Indiana Winter Mock Dual
Doubles Highlights Day Two at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Day two of the Indiana Winter Mock Dual was not what the Oregon women's tennis team had in mind. The Ducks were just 1-5 in singles play and 2-4 in doubles action on Sunday at the IU Tennis Center.
How It Happened: The day started with doubles play for Oregon. The Ducks started the day with Marquette, winning 2-of-3. The freshmen pair of Nia Rose and Alyssa Tobita took split on Saturday, by defeating Paula Tormos and Diana Tokar 8-5. UO then went winless again against No. 51 Indiana, with the closes match coming from UO's pair of Lina Åkesson and Kadie Hueffner who fell to Paula Gutierrez and Katie Klyczek 8-6.
Nicole Long and Marlou Kluiving picked up their first victory of the weekend when the two dispatched Ana Pimienta and Erin Gebes of IU, 8-2.
Oregon struggled most in singles action, dropping five of its six matches to the Hoosiers. Rose, Long and Hueffner all forced a third set that was decided by a super tie breaker, but couldn't finish. The Ducks' lone win in singles came from Kluiving, who defeated Sarah Baron 6-4, 6-3.
What It Means: The Ducks will have one more day to improve and get into gear before the start of the dual season next Saturday (Jan. 24).
