Oregon at Arizona State - Postgame Notebook
Oct. 29, 2015
•Royce Freeman became just the fourth player in UO history to rush for 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons. He finished with 112 yards on just 15 carries and now has 1,109 yards on the year.
•Freeman's 64-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was a career-long. His second score - a 1-yard run in OT - was the 32nd total TD of his career, passing Jeremiah Johnson (2005-08) and Marcus Mariota (2012-14) for seventh all-time at Oregon. Freeman's 29 rushing scores tied Mariota for fifth on UO's all-time ledger.
•Freeman's 100-yard rushing effort was his fourth straight and sixth in eight games this seasons.
•Darren Carrington had at least 100 yards receiving and caught a touchdown for the fourth straight game, dating to last season, finishing with five catches for 107 yards and one score. The WR made his first start of the season and third of his career.
•Charles Nelson scored his first career kick return touchdown, going 100 yards in the third quarter. The all-purpose sophomore tied Kenjon Barner (Oct. 10, 2009 at UCLA) for the second-longest in UO history.
•Nelson, making his third-ever appearance at safety, had a game and career-high 15 tackles (14 solo). He is the first Ducks to record 15 tackles in a game since Michael Clay had 20 vs. Stanford in 2012.
•Reggie Daniels broke up four passes - a career high. Daniels had an apparent fourth-quarter interception overturned by the replay official.
•Kani Benoit had the longest run of his career, a 62-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
•Vernon Adams Jr. extended his personal streak to 31 straight games with a touchdown pass. The senior QB finished with four, two in regulation and two in overtime. His second TD pass of the night came after an epic fourth-down scramble where he found Dwayne Stanford in the back of the end zone for the game-tying touchdown with 12 seconds left in regulation.
•Stanford also scored the first touchdown of overtime, matching his career-best with a pair of TD grabs for the third team.
•Alex Balducci and Henry Mondeaux each had a sack for the fourth straight game. The Ducks' five sacks came from five different players.
•Tyree Robinson had his team-leading third interception of the season and his first since moving from safety to corner in Week 7.
•Evan Voeller made his second career start and second in as many games at left guard. Doug Brenner got the starting not at right guard, his third career start and second of the year.
•The Ducks put out their seventh different starting secondary combination in the last seven games with Tyree Robinson and Arrion Springs as the corners and Reggie Danies and Charles Nelson as the safeties.
•Arizona State's 742 yards were the most ever allowed in a game by the Ducks and the sixth-most ever allowed by a winning team in an FBS game.
•The Ducks extended their winning streak against the Sun Devils to nine games, including the last six in Tempe.
•Oregon is now 1-1 in overtime games this season. It was the Ducks' first triple-OT game since a 33-30 home win over USC Sept. 25, 1999.
•The Ducks improved to 3-0 away from home in Pac-12 play this season. UO's last conference road loss came at Arizona in 2013.
•Oregon is 5-0 on the year when winning the turnover battle.
•UO's 61 points are the most the Ducks have scored against the Sun Devils. Oregon is averaging 44.3 points per game during its nine-game winning streak vs. ASU.
