
Ducks Fall at No. 1 Baylor

WACO, Texas – The Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team fell, 278.935-274.450, against top-ranked Baylor on Sunday afternoon at the Ferrell Center.
How It Happened: The Ducks tallied wins in the acro, pyramid and tumbling heats for a 37.50-37.25 victory in the compulsory event to start off the meet. Oregon scored a 9.75 in the toss heat, but was bested by Baylor's 9.90.
Baylor took the acro event with wins in all three heats, but Oregon responded with a 29.20-28.90 win in the pyramid. Oregon grabbed wins in all three pyramid heats, and scored a pair of 9.80's in the second and third heats. The Ducks scored a 9.55 in the first pyramid heat to beat the Bears' 9.55 mark.
Even with the wins in the pyramid and compulsory the Ducks trailed the Bears 94.75-94.55 at the half.
Oregon posted scores of 9.70, 9.60 and 9.65 in heats one, two and three, respectively, but dropped the toss event, 29.25-28.95 coming out of the half.
The Ducks turned in a respectable 9.825 in the 6 element pass and a season high 9.575 in the aerial pass, but once again, Baylor got the win in tumbling, 55.575-55.520 to extend its lead heading into the team event.
Baylor held serve in the team event, downing the Ducks, 99.360-95.700, to clinch the victory.
Up Next: The Ducks will look to get back on track when they return to Eugene to host Adrian and King in a tri-meet at 6 p.m. on March 7 at Matthew Knight Arena.
